Most young men often wonder how do male models maintain a healthy porcelain skin? And there is a plethora of skincare tips out there. But quite honestly, many of those are just skincare trends which might not be that useful. Very less PROPER guidance is available on men’s skincare especially what you should avoid to maintain a healthy, beautiful skin.
Here are six best men’s skincare tips that are not much talked about but are help young men especially in fashion and modeling industry maintain their skin health.
Don’t give to many expressions.
This may sound bizarre and irrational but this fact has legitimacy to it. Giving too many facial expressions all the time may give a hard time to your skin.
Here we are talking about making your face and holding certain expressions that you subconsciously practise many times a day. Like getting surprised, angry or keep smiling (which is a good thing but a short smile would be enough though)
But remember, these expressions generate lines and folding on your face which creates wrinkles and makes your skin look older.
Try only to express in the moment and not unnecessarily hold lines on your face to avoid wrinkles.
Sweating is Important.
Yes, it may not smell good but sweating can do a lot good for your health and especially skin. A lot of toxins, dirt and impurities are expelled from your skin through sweating. Minerals and salts present in sweat cleanse your skin and liquid hydrates your skin helping dry skin.
To make yourself sweat naturally, try to ride a cycle to your work next time instead of a car, workout regularly without a miss and remember if you do not always have access to professional equipment or space to workout, the best available option there is walk. Walk as much as you can and you will notice the benefits of these habits on your health, and on your skin.
But keep in mind the more you sweat, more you need to conscious about hydration. So, keep a regular and balanced intake of water throughout the day to avoid getting dehydrated.
Put moisturiser immediately after washing face.
The essential purpose of a moisturiser is to hold moisture/water content into your skin. There is no point of applying layers of creams when there is no natural hydrant to seal in.
When you wash your face, your pores are open and there is water content on your face. And if you apply moisturiser right after, that water is sealed into your skin and your skin feels hydrated.
So, the best time to use a moisturiser is right after washing your face with a gentle cleanser. And that’s when it will serve the purpose of keeping your skin soft and supple.
Eat food with natural Red’s and Yellow’s.
Natural food like peaches, carrots and tomatoes are extremely beneficial for your skin. These contain powerful antioxidants and provide Vitamin A to your body which helps forming new cells. Antioxidants containing anti-aging effects and new cell generation will make your skin look younger and fresh.
Have a separate routine for summers and winters.
Changing weather largely affects skin. High and low temperatures, humidity, dryness and pollution in atmosphere have different effects on skin. So, you must keep your beauty regime updated and according to the weather and of course your skin type.
In winters, try to switch to a rich moisturiser to keep dryness at bay. Use lukewarm water instead of hot water for showers and washing face. Also incorporate hydrating sheet masks or serums to your routine.
In summers, increase the use of a strong sunscreen with at least 50 SPF. (Though using sunscreen in winters is equally essential). Switch to a light (preferably water based) moisturiser and a mattifying one if your skin is oily which will serve the purpose.
Avoid fragranced products.
One of the most important thing that most people overlook and do not realise its value for skin is the use fragrance free products. Side effects of fragrances are way more than you can imagine. In simple words, fragrance may smell good but it contains a lot of toxins and irritants which makes your skin extremely sensitive.
Continuous usage of highly fragranced products can make skin prone to harsh outcomes like redness, itching, acne, rashes and beyond.
So, next time you visit the store to shop for skincare products, try to look for fragrance free products for your skin which will actually take care of your skin without causing any harm to it.
